Some of Our Hike Clients

This page is dedicated to all the wonderful dogs that enrich our lives on a daily basis.

Rupert: Rupert is a delightful Wheaton Terrier that loves his hikes, always waiting at the door when I arrive. Slow and steady he delights in rolling in the snow and wading in his favorite mud puddle. He comes out looking like a freshly dipped Easter Egg! I towel dry him the best I can and his dad is very understanding about the muddy paw prints he comes home to every week. Sporting a new spring hair cut he is looking very dapper. (But the before picture is too cute not to use!)

Bonnie and Amiga: Bonnie and Amiga are sisters and come out to play a couple times a week. Both beautiful dogs, Amiga loves to play, doing her best to encourage Bonnie into a romp. Bonnie is more of an explorer and enjoys playing hide and seek, leaving Amiga to wonder where she is. Bonnie is also definite love bug who is always ready for attention and a cuddle. Marci, their mum owns Walker Creek so stop in to see her for some great shopping for you and your pets!

Gemma: Gemma is a Golden Retriever who is very easy going, gets on well with everyone, and has a great time on her hikes. (Sometimes napping when I pick her up it takes a minute for her to stretch and get going, but then she’s ready for action.) She loves to run and roll in the soft moss and generally get as dirty as possible! Her parents patiently clean her off and towel her down when I bring her home, happy that she has had such a good time.

Ike: Ike is a handsome big Rottweiler that runs out to the van with great delight when I come to get him. Slow and steady he enjoys stopping to smell the delightful scents as we go. Without fail he tries to convince me he is supposed to go in the front door when we return home (maybe to lay on the couch and watch T.V.) instead of his designated doggie area (which is perfectly luxurious sans couch) and will have to do until mum comes home.

Coco: Coco is a true princess and we love to have her along. Squealing in delight when I pick her up, I’m sure the neighbors sometimes thing I must be torturing her!

She has claimed her special place in the truck and is a long time regular hiker, having broken in several of Rob’s staff. She will not go back into the house until she has rolled over in the grass and received her much deserved tummy rub!

Casey: Casey has taught me so much over the weeks. One of the things I love about what I do is finding out what motivates each dog. Casey wasn’t too sure about being around so many other dogs trying to convince me she would rather just hang out in the van. After several hikes she has come out of her shell, starting to interact with the other dogs, and responding well to her human pack leader. Other dogs are great teachers and can help each other far faster than we as mere humans can.

Sigmund: Sigmund the Jack Russell is a delight. He gets on well with everyone and is loving the freedom to run as fast as his little legs will take him. (Which as it turns out is much further than the boundaries of the doggie park!) The older members of his doggie family at home are enjoying the break and a nap as he expends his puppy energy elsewhere, finally tired when he returns home. With quite the repertoire of tricks his latest is saying “ I love you mama,” which he is performing for delighted friends and family.

Maddy: Maddy is a cute little bundle of fur that seems to be getting bigger than you would think that a Bichon/Yorkie would be. Very unsure of people and dogs to start, she has totally changed since coming out on the hikes. Watching her progress has been wonderful. She has gone from hiding and growling to running and chasing: from freezing and squealing to ducking and dodging. Just one of the big kids now!

Casey and Jet: Golden Retriever and Black Lab are brother and sister and are part of the regular crew. They both love to be off leash and running, but never go far. Casey loves checking in to get acknowledgement in between bounding off for her next run. Jet thoroughly enjoys sniffing and exploring and is learning how to pick out dogs to play with that are as boisterous as he is. A little cheeky he keeps me on my toes deciding each time if he wants to pull a new prank to help me increase my ability to be patient!
